Update on the Day of Remembrance

One of the reasons this Blog came about was I decided to put up a brief memorial page on a domain that I really didn't know what to do with, until the 6th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Just to update you, over 150 communities across the nation held memorial services that day to reflect on the lost lives of our Transgender brothers and sisters, due to violence and hate crimes. Memorials were also held worldwide.

The Day of Remembrance apparently is the result of a 1998 murder. The stabbing death of Rita Hester, a 34-year-old Transsexual living in the Boston area, remains unsolved.

Reportedly, an average of one Transgender person has been the victim of a hate crime murder each month over the past 10 years.
